I'm not sure about the lambo one, it's not my cup of tea. I generally don't like the cars either. But the leather one looks nice. I like the sound of the brown one, it would match the sofas I have in my flat.

I don't know if i actually like the leather one as it looks kinda strange. It's screaming like 'look! I got a **** load of money and I show it with every piece I own!'.

And about the Lambo one... nice copy of Acer's Ferrari book, ain't it?

I've never liked the Ferrari line from Acer, just because I think it's way too flashy for a laptop. Not a fan of the leather one either, though I think I would like it a lot more if they used an oiled leather instead of the textured, patent leather they used. It would be a lot less flashy, and I think the leather would make a nicer surface then plastic to rest your wrists on while typing.

Then again, I like the minimalistic and techie styling of IBM products, so maybe I've just got warped taste

Ewww. I hate leather things; sticky and smelly. I guess it might be ok for somebody that dosn't sweat when playing games, but otherwise what a mess.

I like the leather one. It'd make a nice handrest. IMO notebooks/laptops are going to be made nicer, smaller, more hard wearing etc in the next year or so. I've got a Powerbook and it's got nowhere near the power of my PC (see sig), but it's really nice to use, compact and easily powerful enough for everything I use it for. I think people will realise that computing isn't just about power.

However, when Vista comes out, that might all change, with small compact laptops unable to cope. I dunno.

I like that laptops are starting to look less like crap. The lambo one looks ok if it were a different color, I want to see some specs though. The leather one would be interesting, one to match my jacket would be quite nice. Im waiting for a carbon fiber laptop, the acer is part way there.

The leather is nice, though I would have preferred a flat, shiny black. I wonder if you can get it re-covered. I agree that i use my lappy at home a LOT more than i thought I would. my old one was mimimally adequate, and needed to be plugged in all the time. With the new one I can sit in bed and read the news or do email, which after being on my feet all day is an improvement over my chair. I don't think desktops are going away anytime soon, but I think laptops will be the big growth market in the next few years.

i'm a car nut, i absolutely love the lambo version. and i'd rather have a carbon fiber shell rather than leather. :P

Sony's just bought out a carbon fibre notebook. It's overpriced as usual, but it looks tasty.

Can't say I like the look of either. The yellow looks flashy, but would llok real tacky if you scratched it. While the red leather looks a bit like snake skin or mini croc skin. Either way guys they are all yours, no competion from me. I think I would prefer the exotic look of cool plastic woodgrain. ROLF
