With me being a person who hardly ever watches TV this news post has really opened my eyes as to why "Lost" is so hugely popular: Evangeline Lilly, obviously! Nice.

Offering episodes for downloads is a logical move I suppose, a move to stem the unprofitable deluge of episodes being shared over 'torrent. Personally, I would rather pay a few dollahs for the hi-def downloads than be submitted to a mind-numbing dose of commercials.

Of course, the answer is that you might go and get the hi-def Torrent release without ads for free, but that might or might not be illegal, depending on your interpretation of US and international law.
One of ur best lines for a while, wd.

I think most people base there intereptation of such law on the speed of their internet connection

Well I'd defiantely be more inclined to torrent it myself, but it's a step in the right direction. Unless they've disabled skipping around in the track (though last time I tried, the video scrolling on the iPods is a bit too unresponsive to do that a couple times a show).

Still, I think the only show that isn't a rerun that I like watching is Leno, and only the first section at that, and I certainly wouldn't bother downloading it if I missed it, let alone buy a commercial-free version. I have the first 16.5 seasons of The Simpsons but the more recent ones aren't as good anyways.

But people want free more than they want commercial-free, especially if you can scroll through the commercials.

I would download only if it were HD quality. Otherwise I'll watch live, constant antenna moving and all, since digital signal affected by people moving in the next room.

I would be happy to download for free, but in the divx or xvid codec. I think that the show should be free to dl anyway since they broadcast it for free to begin with.

Will you be able to transfer the episodes to portable players, and will they be DRM'd? We're not sure, but we certainly hope so.
Somehow, those two sentences seem to convey the wrong message.
