62C is damn hot for a watercooling system....even at 5.1Ghz...And how can the advertise that on broad level anyway....the takes a village of hardware and settings to gain successful overclock...the "right" ram, mobo, powersupply, voltages, etc...
Nice design thou...not sure out solid tubing is going to work however for obvious reasons... oh well

I thought Intel's preferred method of dealing with their enemies was to incinerate them with a Prescott?

watercooling to the masses is a good thing - we get more suppliers for ourselves.
Hope it doesn't stop them keeping the heat in procs down though

sounds interesting but can think of a few problems:
1) CPU has to be in the perfect place on you mobo 2) Cases need to be designed for it 3) how heavy is that rig going to be hanging off your mainboard/processor? But at least intel are trying new things, they need to |

I think those problems will be less than what you think.
D9 fat bodies are not too difficult to locate for Intel macines, so RAM is fine, and some newer intel boards support overclocking. In fact, as soon as it becomes available it will be what cools my wife's 820 here at the house. Considering she's got 2 GB of Elpida D9s already, I think we'll have a good old time, don't you?

That kind of performance is absurd; perhaps its time for watercooling enthusiasts to work on a new generation of pumps; if Intel can do this good, the enthusiast level can certainly do better than current watercooling systems are now.

time to move to a new cooling system. Now that intel has done it every one will think my system isn't l33t enough.
I think that the reason that system is working so well is due to the large surface contact and lack of flow restrictions. But 62C on water ! come on |

erm, that's a 1.2G overclock. I think 62C is reasonable.

62 degrees is nothing by intel standards. And at 5Ghz who really cares. I wonder how loud it is though?

Jesus Christ that CPU really IS fast
![]() I was hoping Bit-Tech would do something to eliminate the possiblity of results fiddling-the "overclocked" FX-60 still looks a little suspicious since it performs worse than a reference FX-60, but that performance is freaking absurd ![]() Intel really pulled out all the stops on Conroe

That FEAR score certainly would be impressive if it was anything more than pointless. The CPU may be very impressive (surely looks it), but wouldn't a media encoding related benchmark or something else be more appropriate?
My apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I don't even see why you benchmark processors on games when none of them are CPU limited nowadays. You are forced to use silly graphical levels to make the benchmark show some result. Surely you're not excited about the new revolution in low resolution gaming? I think the way you treat video card benchmarks is excellent, a great break from the pointless statistics some websites/publications give, but you really need to do something about CPU benchmarks, and probably start by ignoring game performance. |

NVIDIA brings AMD box to Intel shindig.
Brought a smile to my face. The fear benchmark makes me wonder, how could a averclocked fx 60 perform worse than a stock one? It looks a little biased based off that observation. Waiting for bit to investagate this a little.
