Not everyone has the money (or is willing to invest) like some on this forum do... I'm perfectly happy with my AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Thorougbred, 2*512MB Apacer ram, Club 3D GeForce FX5600... So why invest €2500 for a pc that I don't *need*?

I was surprised at the number of people running their monitors at 60Hz.
I just need a new(er) graphics card.

It shows how RARE multi-GPU solutions really are. Especially Crossfire :S

Don't forget LCDs. I run mine at 60, and I know many others who do, as there doesn't appear to be a visible difference.

Yep, I run my LCD at 60Hz too.
The funny thing is looking at just how many people seem to be quite happy to run their games at a lower detail setting because of their video cards.
And wth is with all the 9600's? I have one, in my spare rig, but seriously, its ancient now! Still, guess it goes to show that it must have been good performance/£ back when I bought mine new.

yay I'm one of the 42 people who have 2GB of ram =)

Seems quite a few people have the 512MB cards though compared to 2GB of system ram.

I'd probably fit in just below the average...in terms of hardware speed

I don't think this survey proves much except that money plays a big factor in what people use. also some people will
use one companies product over another no matter what.

It would be interesting to have a hardware survey on bit and see what everyone is using for gaming. There are a lot of people here who run solid, old hardware that does what they want and it would be interesting to see what % the hardware boy racers made up of bit's total audience.

i think valve needs to recode certain area's of the game, the game is way to cpu based, and random fps drops for no reason?, wtf is up with that, walk into the wooded floored room on chatuea and watch your pc get raped for no reason at all!

128MB of system RAM? Even 1.6 would struggle on that!

Even XP struggles on that... I have a laptop with 256MB, of wich 64 is shared with the GPU (therefor 192MB effective) and XP pro takes a hit from that...

The few, the proud, those with 2gb of ram.

I feel like such a minority. According to thoses results I have an above average rig. Im faster than most AMD's out there and have a bigger monitor. I bet someone around here is one of those running 4 cpu's.

it must be putting people with 2gig of ram into the 1.5-1.99gig catergory, that or these results were collected a long long time ago and have only just been released
there probably more than 70 people on these boards alone with 2gig or more
