From what I can see both companies have the same mindset anyway:

Selling products boasting great tech support...when the cash has been recieved ...forget about said tech support and customers!

I have horrible first hand experience from Dell, and have read some terrible stories from Alienware customers.

The only saving grace is that Alienware are alot more geard for the enthusiast market. If there was a takeover by Dell, it may help greatly reduce the costs of the Alienware systems.

not really a coincidence, as I reported here: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2006/02...i_launch_date/

There are about 8-10 partners for quad sli. Velocity Micro, Falcon Northwest, Alienware, Dell, Maingear and Voodoo PC (I think) are a few that I remember off the top of my head.
