The jungle scenes look amazing but when are arm and weapon models going to catch up with environments? It looks like the weapons and arms have been superimposed over screenshots. They don't appear to have near the quality of the rest of whats going on.

It looks about as good as the screenshots for every other up-and-coming game I've seen. The gameplay descriptions appeal to me a little more, as everything looks damn good these days. It sounds like it will have much more of a dynamic, non-linear gameplay, where player decisions can actually affect the "path" (for lack of a better word) that you take through the game. Should be interesting to play.

Ack. If Oblivion didn't seal the deal for me needing a GPU upgrade soonish, that certainly did. Maybe that 2405fpw wasn't such a good idea after all.
Going with the bit about breaking ice and whatnot posing real danger, I'll have to assume this'll make use of PPUs... they should definately be available by then.

Exactly what I was thinking, it makes sense to make the first person weapon models and hands look twice as stunning as everything else... your going to be looking at them 99% of the time

It does look pretty tasty and the physics and world looks cool, but I really doubt there will be much to the story or gameplay. Ubber graphics are the easy part, but great gameplay and storyline seems to be very difficult for most developers, either that or there restricting there teams creative abilitys

Cant wait until it come out tho TBH

It looks good. The jungle scenes look the best, I think it looks way better than regular far cry. Hope its got a story line to back up the graphics.

Well... looks like it's upgrade time...

Let's hope VISTA won't impede DX10 video cards too much. I'd hate to have to buy a non-HDCP, DX9 card now, only to have to get a new one a few months down the road.

Vista and HDCP are two separate entities. They're just going to emerge around the same time. It's been built to support protected content (you still need the licensing, of course), but only protected content (read: not graphical rendering outputs of a game) will require a compliant display.
