Blade? like the 360's interface is made up of 'blades'
oops on that but at least the OS can help people get the most out of the system in a management way for games n so on. |

I really don't like the new Xbox interface. It gets so confusing with the screens sliding from left to right and right to left--hard to tell which one you are on. They could have just done something a lot easier and more efficient in my opinion. I hope the PS3 does not follow the same path.

Blades.... hmmm reminds me of the IBM servers.Maybe a Sony Man will just replace the blades for you whenever one fails? :P Depending on how its made this could be good or bad as having it on its own SPE *may* (depending on how they are programming it) prevent anything else from using that SPE. I doubt a OS will require an entire SPE to itself. But it should make the OS a lot faster. They could even make it look flashy. But why? You don't need a flashy OS. There are only 6 more if they have sorted the yield issues out, the last i heard they were struggling to probuce in volume 5 cell chips let alone the 7 cell chip

Developers will likely have problems using upall 7 spe's at first anyway - and the extra spe will be used for tasks related to central gameplay functions such as voice and communications etc, which obviously has to use up resources.
