Fubared Mobo :/

Well the other day, I was looking around on sisoft sandra, clicked motherboard info, then got a lock up, so I thought no big deal, so I restarted the pc: "Beeeeeep" (long error beep) So then I fugured, i should reset the cmos, so I do as normal but after switching the jumper to the "2-3" position I managed to set it to "1" on its own (with jumping to "1-2"), I didn't notice untill I'd booted, My pc posted but then hanged at the ati logo. So back to square one :/

So I was trying differant ram combos, (using my geil value ram) I managed to get my mobo to post with the ram in the 1st & 3rd slot (single channel), so then i tried to boot into windows, no luck, hd seems to have corrupted :/. so I took the oppitunity of being able to post to flash the bios, all went fine, flashed to teh march 06 bios but I still can't use my Geil ram in duall channel and the mushkin isn't posting :/

Right, well at one point, in single channel the ram wanted to run @DDR333, 2T (SPD timings of 2-3-3-5) which got about 1200 errors on memtest, I then changed the ram speed to DDr400/ 2.5-3-3-6 (rated timings) and it passed memtest fine, no errors what so ever. I also took bot kits of ram to a friends, tested tham with HCI memtest., both passed at rated timings.

Hmmm... Is it stable enough for a BIOS flash? Sounds like that's your problem having run it without the jumper on it imho.

Oooo, damm, I forgot to mention that, the second I got into the bios I reflashed to the march 06 bios, I'm sure wrote that somewhere... Also after flashing, I tried installing Windows but got many BSODs along the way. The first was "PAGEFILE_IN_NONPAGED AREA", then "DRIVER_IRQL-LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL" and then "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT"

Keep em coming
