So basically everyone running windows is committing a crime then, and so are microsoft for supplying us with illegal CD ripping software.

If only I was dictator of the world, then I could slap them in the face and tell them to shut up, that would show them.

That's awesome. Me studying Computer Sciences over here and so like... let me count '1,2,3,...,1987,1988,...' like 2000 people with me (students only, no staff) will be in jail for the next few years. Not counting the students on the two other universities here. Or the people not studying CS but knowing how to click on the red 'Record' button.
Cool, cool. Maybe I should found a private jail company as fast as I can to make loads of money.
What will they do? Like put 1/6 of world's population to jail for maybe knowing how to use software that is not even illegal yet?
Yea! Bring 'em to me! Put in jail my arse biatches!

If the family can avoid hiring Lionel Hutz from the Simpsons, they could make an absolute fortune from a
malicious prosecution counter-suit.

In other news, Cnet has dug up a new little piece of proposed legislation whereby even knowing how to copy music, or possessing the tools to rip an MP3 from CD would be considered illegal.
So thats just about... Everyone breaking the law. And that would mean theoreticly anyone with a windows pc would be breaking the law aswell

Oh My God!!!

I don't usually post in these comment threads, but this one is kind've a must.......

All this file sharing crap that's been going on, I wonder how much 'alleged revenue' the recording industry lost before the advent of the internet etc, due to people simply copying a tape or CD or even a Vinyl record and then passing them around to their friends? Hell, I remember when I was at Junior School (Long long time ago) I just recorded stuff straight from the radio (which apparently is technically illegal, and yet even single deck tape players are equipped with a record button) Soooooo, thinking along these lines, are the RIAA, MPAA and whoever else there is just picking on those people who have Internet Access?

Sorry, mini-rant over

None, generally sales and profits are up for the recording industry.
