Personally it doesn't intrest me at all, I don't see what the fuss is. It sounds basicly like its Xfire, with linking into Xbox360(and frankly, I'd really rather not play with Xbox360 players).

Does this mean we can link games from PC to Xbox360?

I.e. GRAW gamers on xbox360 and PC can play together?

PC > Xbox 360 (well aslong as you fork out a reasonable sum)

Mouse and Keyboard >>>>> Controller (so much so that i dont bother with consoles anymore)

Xbox 360 gamer's are going to get roflpwned 17 times over

Well aslong as its not all the n00b PC gamers going over to live

By the way, will PC gamers have to pay for the service ?

if not i think ill just stick with X-Fire thank you very much

Not if the strong rumours of a keyboard and mouse being release are true

In theory yes, but a game like GRAW is the perfect example of why it frequently won't work. GRAW maps are 2-3 times bigger in the PC version then in the XBOX version, I believe because of RAM constraints. That means the XBOX already can't keep up with the PC. So any games with decent sized maps are going to be a no-no for the Xbox. All that adds up to is that, for PC gamers, playing with XBOX gamers will be like playing in a playground when you've got access to the entire world.

Rumers abound that there's going to be a keyboard and mouse released for the 360.

BTW guys, I know several people that can hold their own with a controller against someone with a keyboard and mouse. Some people [b]do[/] use a controller on the PC and sensetivity can be adjusted accordingly.

if you start getting a Mouse and keyboard for your x-box (which either means you need a desk, or a small lap table, or use them on your lap)

and you need wires (tied to x-box) or wireless (runs out of batterys)

i bet i can stil pwn these x-box 360 n00bs (assuming the service is free)

In all honesty, they could make a wireless keyboard and mouse that runs off of the same battery packs that the wireless controllers do. A keyboard with a thumbstick on the side seems more logical to me but even it was a keyboard and mouse, I have a coffee table right in front of me.

FPS games aren't going ot be the only cross platform games. Arguabley racing and possibly MMORPG (when we see one on a console) will be cross platform as well as arcade games. As I said before, I'll pretty much guarentee you that there's people out there who will "pwn" you with a controller even if you use a kbm.

As long as you fork out a reasonable sum? I seem to have missed the part where £3000+ vs £500- became a reasonable price. I have spoken out against the ever increasing price of PC gaming before. The way I see it, until these costs fall, good PC gamers who cannot afford the ultra-next-gen hardware will get PWND by XBOX n00bs simply because the box plays better. This will probably shoot down many PC gamers (literarly). IMHO

-ed out

P.S: I totally agree with the keyboard + mouse argument. Except for racing games, perhaps.

u dont need to pay £3000 for your PC

i built mine (-hdd and cd)

for about £600 (1gb ram, 3700+, 6800GT) thats enough to pwn x-box gamers nicely

PC games have more settings so it plays over more hardware, the 360 is a unified platform, but that means everyone is limited to it

A unified platform also means that things can be more optimized rather then having to write code that will work across thousands of configurations.

Yes, PC's can cost more, but they really don't need to. I've got a £500 box I just built, it's got a 6800GS, a 2.5Ghz A64(single core) and 2GB of ram, and it pwns. It may not be the best thing out there, it may not be even as good as an Xbox, but you don't have to have a £3000 box to enjoy games, nowhere near it. Secondary to that, I can buy PC games for £25-30. Whereas XBOX gamers have to pay £30-40. It's like buying something on Hire-purchase, it only seems like a better idea if you're only counting better as "better today".

well said

console games are more expensive, and thats how they make their money

i belive at first MS lost £100 on every x-box (classic not 360) sold

no biggie though, they can make it up with the games
