Nice. All my doubts concerning Wii are now put to rest. Wii may very well be the first console I own...

This makes me even more ecited to get my hands on a Wii.

Okay, I couldn't resist the joke, but I'm honest, it looks great.

Question: How did Nintendo manage to keep someone from nabbing one of the controllers?

With Nintendo's genious marketing as of late, and now proof on the pudding, we're looking at something to get them back on top. Wii really was a Wevowooshion!

Looking at the joypad and what looks like a tv remote control, these two are wired together (the nunchucks?) - are they wireless to the console?

The gun certainly looks interesting!

I'm almost certainly getting one now, and I really am pretty sick of console gaming at this point (how couldn't I be, my 7900gt just came in ). Back catalog of classic games, without the blowjobs, is genious.

I saw that shot of Sonic and literally cried "YES!" SO psyched!

Of course, logic tells me that there's no game genie option for us n00bch347 types, but what the heck. If I need that, I'll fire up nesticle/other.

They had fit birds at every single console helping out gamers and making sure nothing went walkies.

Yes, the nunchucks are wired to the Wiimote and the pair are wireless to the console.

I love my Xbox 360 I really do. I love my PC even more.

But...

This thing looks to be just pure entertainment to me. I will be buying one. Well done The Big N (again)

2nd that

I cant believe it, Mr Whingey pants (me) is excited about a new console

After having a look at some wii on Google Video and reading Bit this console looks like tons of fun... which is one thing that is kinda lacking from the rivals, there just too serious if you get what I mean. The XBOX360 and PS3 are just wannabe gaming pc's without a keyboard and mouse, which is crappy. Yer the tech is impressive but graphics look out of date too quickly where as good gameplay and innovation sticks for a long time.

I think Nintendo have been very clever on this one, they've gone for a totally different approach to the other big boys and I think it's going to put Nintendo back on form again

Well done Nintendo

I have yet to hear any negative comments on the net from anyone at E3 concerning the Wii (except a few site sthat said that it'll take a few minutes to get used to controlling Link). Everyone seems to be extremely excited about it now. Nintendo and Sony had the chance to have the best E3 shows and Nintendo seems to have pulled it off.

27 playable demos on the floor....wow, just wow.

I'm very excited about Wii particularly after seeing Sony's contribution. In fact, Sony's attempt at enhancing what I would consider traditional gaming seems overshadowed but 360 which looks like it's gaining some real steam.

360/Wii might be the ultimate combo although the noise the 360 makes certainly puts me off (I'm a stickler for quiet). I've little doubt the Wii will be wisper quiet considering the tech being used inside which is another bonus. It is sad to HD missing but understand Nintendo stategy on this one and wide Widescreen support is atleast a plus on Gamecube.

I've always thought that the Wii would be the console to go with out of the 3. Now this has just confirmed it for me. If I get a console, it'll be this one for sure. Any word on the price yet? I can't seem to find anything on it...

*EDIT*
Also, how does the whole deal with the retro games work? Would you buy a disc containing N64 games or SNES games, etc?

And what are prices looking to be for accessories like the gun? Also, is the gun (and other accessories) just basically a plastic shell that the Wiimote (tee hee - I absolutely love that name - and that's before I even think of dirty jokes ) snaps into?

You're talking about the Virtual Console wotnot, right? Apparently, you'll just pay & download the games through the Wii, which are then stored on the internal memory (512Mb I think). I'm pretty sure the Wii has SD card slots too, so you can always increase the storage space if needed.
