It's infested with DRM, and unless there's something I missed, it's just a pro-MS i-tunes-u-like.

Not for me.

ipod and allofmp3, yeah that sounds about right.

Although xrost isn't issuing new iCards at the moment so can't buy any tunes, and if only I could afford the effect of my ipod "having an accident"

Anyone else find it incredibly amusing when big companies act so immature.

"No, you can't play with us unless you aren't friends with Johnny. He's a stupid head!"

Intel trying to make BTX motherboards, which coincidentally don't support AMD. And now Microsoft with Windows Media Player that won't support an iPod. It won't work! Too many people are members of "the opposite side" for this to catch on. I'll use it myself, but then I have a Creative.

To be honest I think that if Apple wanted the ipod to be compatible with media player MS would only be to happy to let them do so. Also I think you would find that if Apple would let other mp3 player makers (not that an iPod plays mp3s) play their format I am sure that there would be loads of other players

Oh, I was under the impression that you could play music downloaded from anywhere on the iPod. I know that my brother can put songs from eMule or bit torrent, or shared over MSN, onto his iPod shuffle.

And it sounded to me as though the music downloaded from Urge, would specifically not be allowed to be used on an iPod...

I think I'll stick with my Hi-MD and SonicStage 3.4. It actually asks me if I want to infest my ripped tracks with DRM before I rip them. Why there's a "Yes" option on that dialogue box is beyond me.
