I love the trailer, the whole darkness of the shenanigans with cortana give it a brilliant mood. I'm really looking foreward to the story now, not just the graphics - which is great.

Notice there not saying the movie and game are totally seperate as well, only the release date. Interesting stuff.

Trailer looked very impressive.. especially the environmental effects which I figure will start to become standard in FPS's..

If what was said in the interview - that you can "go" to all those terrain features like the mountains in the back ground, etc -- I wonder how "linear" the gameplay is? I wonder if there is more freedom to "find your way" as it were or if you're still directed in an overall plot of where to go and when..

Shame it ain't out till next year!

well annoyingly it will only come out on Vista, i think. i think that this is the best game ever created, but a lot of customers will be detracted becuase of the vista only compatibility.

What does Vista have to do with Xbox 360? If that is something that will matter, I'll laugh at all the people that have to pay money for a new Windows system just to play Halo. (But since its a 360 title, I HIGHLY doubt that Vista has a thing to do with it.)

Like every version of Windows; there is sure to be a cheaper upgrade only pack available.

Halo 3 is coming out on the PC, and it is, supposedly, going to be Vista only.

should proberly get a move on and finish halo 1 and 2 then, started both, finished none.
Stupid move to Xbox 360 meant starting over (can't be arsed to set up xbox again, and can't be arsed to redo all the stuff i done already)

Ah well.........

Halo 3 looking mighty impressive, wonder how the battle levels will turn out...

Halo single player has all ways been disapointing. It's all so repetitive and boring. only good thing about halo series is the multiplayer which is perhaps the best multiplayer game going.

WELL... I can agree with you on Halo 2, but Halo 1 for the PC was and probably still is my favorite game.

(Even though I havn't played it for well over a year now... )

Ive only played Halo 1 on single player a few times, and I cant agree with you more. For me, it didnt have that instant 'grab' that previous FPS games have had (eg, Goldeneye).

I was talking to alastor earlier about the trailer, and we were in agreement that its good, but not great. The character detail was obviously the main highlight of it, looked very impressive. But as far as the landscape goes, it didnt look that spectacular, and IMO the blowing sand didnt look that great either.
