Pressures on ATI to perform, they need a chipset as you point out now that ULi will probably not be used that is comparable to nforce5.

Strange how with AMD, the graphics companies do the chipsets due to SLI/Cross-fire... I suppose if you want something done, you've gotta do it yourself.

I have been told that sampling will happen in June, so I would expect boards to hit retail by mid-to-late June.

Interesting, I'm curious to see if ATI's chipsets can outperform the ones made by nVidia. I doubt it but who knows. Another thing I'm curious about is wich companys will integrate these chips first.

It means that budget mobos based on it will be cheaper and is actually better because it gives manufacturers more freedom in the placement of the SB, they won't have to worry about the trace lengths for ethernet which would otherwise suffer heavily from EMI. It also reduces overheads by having a seperate ethernet chip.
