The MPAA is again in s***! As I know if you get information illegaly then you cannot use it in court against someone. I have no ideea what Valance media has done, and I don't even care. There where always problems with torrents and legality and there probably will always be.

Again MPAA/RIAA ****ed up it's own business. Another classic.

I really wouldn't be surprised. I find it more unrealisitic when people suggest that the XXIA's don't do this sort of thing, then when it's suggested that they do.

Oh and, I guess I'm supporting TorrentSpy all the way, since I view their adverts rather a lot. Nice to know I'm doing my bit to shaft the MPAA

i hope torrentspy kicks their asses to hell.

i think the MPAA will win, they have some of the most law influential people inside their pokets and may infact create a new law so they can win this, or even they can call it seaching for terrorist information .

Priceless

Companies like the MPAA seems to forget that they are just that: private companies that have to operate within the boundaries of the law. This ought to be a nice reality check for them.

Just note that MPAA isn't a company, it is an organization that represents the standards and legal issues for most major recording studios, just like the RIAA is.

I'm glad to see this, as people at my college have been getting sued left and right for filesharing, and being that we're a tech school we've had 5 people sued for writing their own p2p programs/networks.

If this goes in the right direction, it will set a precedent to keep the RIAA from hassling us more, and getting information in very shoddy ways. So far they've played russian roulette with IP addresses and timestamps, then asked the school to give logs from mail server logins. The school hands this information right over because they don't want to end up in court (and they don't want to take the chance, even if something couldn't be held against them)

This technique they've been using is circumstantial at best, but nobody has the money to go to court over it. I think the count of people sued at our school is up to 84, we're the most often sued school and also the first one to be sued a couple years ago (don't quote me on that, but I believe it to be correct)

Hmmm...

Suprisingly I didnt find a single post in favor of the riaa/mpaa. Comon, theyre only trying to protect the studios and artists.
Just kidding, please dont kill me, may the riaa/mpaa burn in hell.
