It's beautiful! It's fast!
No AMD? Only one X1900XTX?
And where can you choose 7900GTX?
All I can choose from is:
- 7900GS
- X1900XTX
- Dual 7900GS
I'd still prefer building it on my own.

It's got 7900GTX though. Which in most scenarios, is a better performer.

Edit: Actually it doesn't.

Well... didn't find 7900GTX.
And that'd be what I would go for if I bought one of these.
Even though X1900XTXs are better in some cases as you might read in the article over here at bit-tech.

You can have a X1900XT 512Mb when you order it, but it isn't Crossfire though.

From what i could see, maximum you could order was 1.5TB. 2 500GB drives in Raid 0 + another 500GB drive as an option further down.

Dell really are making a move in the right direction with this. If only they had a bit more choice on gfx cards and processors etc and they had an AMD version, that would be fantastic. I think they're onto a winner with this one but they'd convert far more people if it had a better choice of components. Once this is available with conroe it will be an awesome system but until then I think most enthusiasts won't bother as it will be more expensive to upgrade to conroe later than to wait until it's available pre-installed.

Selling the case as a seperate item is a great idea and I know for a fact that if the price is right they'll sell shed loads. I've emailed my account manager at Dell to see if he's got any details on the case. I'll let you know what I find out.

Yeah, but just the fact that you can now buy off the shelf components as and when a new Mobo is needed for the latest memory,CPU sockets etc, is just huge for a Dell Pc.

Absolutely bloody GORGEOUS. Best pre-built looks evar tbh. I like how Dell decided to go with standard components (other than mobo), that way they won't destroy the idea of upgrading once you've dropped £2k on one.

But I can't run down to the shops and get one. It's a board made by Dell. That was my point. They aren't going to make a whole new chipset for it when nF4 SLi works just fine.

The point is, you can take this Mobo out and replace it with any other make seeing as it is now a standard size/shape.

Thats never been the case before....its always been the problem with Dell, the Mobo you get with the Pc when you buy it, is the one your stuck with....not anymore.

I'm interested in the case for el Wifey's PD 820, which even with a Big Typhoon sometimes overheats on the stock board. This would be marvelous looking in our office.

Either that or I'll slap my PURE Innovation in it and piss people off.

According to an XPS manager at Dell a date has not been set yet for the release of the case on it's own. I'll let you know if I hear anything else.
