Question:
Since it has 1 pcie x16 on northbridge and one on the southbridge, is the link between NB and SB still only 2 PCIe lanes? So there's a bandwidth gap of x14? Surely it's slower to negotiate between two chips as well. |

the two PCI-Express x16 slots on RD580/600 are both in the north bridge. It is NVIDIA's solution that has them split between the north and south bridges. However, NVIDIA's two chips are connected with a bi-directional 1000MHz HyperTransport bus meaning that there is no perf loss.
