And why wont it take so much?

I'll give you 3 letters to guess, and a bunch of Digg fanbois in for good measure. I spose if it isnt full of the **** that surf and comment on digg, then it can only be a good thing and might actually be readable.

digg is **** and tbh 99% of these democratic/community based sites suck because the vast majority of people using them are incredibly stupid

the actual site sucks too, the interface is awkward and its insanely slow, maybe the redesign will help but you just get the feeling they'll cram more ajax and 'web2.0' nonsense into it

oh and unless your story is about google, apple or <insert latest web2.0 craze> it doesnt get on the front page

for all these reasons i deleted my digg livemark

Agreed.

The collective conciousness of it equals about one person of normal intelegence.

You shouldnt have people commenting about world affairs when they are little more than apes with apposible thumbs enabling them to reach the space bar.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm happy with slashdot for my news discussion. I don't give two hoots about what software is used, at least with /. there are some intelligent users.

Oh and I don't think AOL will do well with this, but I'm also hoping they won't, because they're very annoying.

It's not AOL, it's an AOL company.

Anyone else find it a bit ironic that one of the articles in that pic is about cancelling AOL?

Just had a look at the AOL/Netscape site, don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
