hmmm Microsoft saying open standard again, this is all very strange.
to be honest i dont really want this to take off, i think there are enough problems with microsoft and DRM without this.

What is it with weird names recently?
Viiv, Wii and now Zune! Any ideas on pronunciation? Do we say zoon, say it like june, or even say zoonay?! |

My guess is that since Microsoft has had a past of working with the other companies and since they are saying they have an open standard we will see the Zune shift into all of the other music distribution services: Yahoo Music, Napster, etc. Also the other companies will release products licensed under the Zune name.
Thats just my guess though.

Aren't these guys missing the point? They're fighting over the title of best DRM-protected music service, but who the hell wants DRM'd music?
