Haha, I love them, they're making every aspect of this entire project as playfull as possible.

I can't wait, and I think I'm actually quite likely to get one. It'll be my first console since a sega megadrive II, and with a bit of luck it'll be just as fun as my PC is.

With my luck, it'll come out the same day I finish my MAME cabinet (which is still in thought bubble stages). Still no confirmed pricing yet though, right? A week after my birthday would be a bit of a shame, but if I manage to snag any birthday checks it could all work out.

First console I've really wanted since the Playstation (and I only wanted that for FFVII). And first I'll have paid for myself since the Sega Genesis

Or maybe someone is just yanking your chain?

I couldn't figure out why Bit-tech didn't have a link to said press release. I managed to find it after a little digging. For those who can't be bothered to read it, here's the whole story of the "secret encoded message":
Quote:

How could that be, you ask? Perhaps the secret to the launch information for Wii is somehow encoded in the text of this news item. You might want to pore over it for a few hours before staying up all night to debate phraseology and comma placement with your friends online. Or maybe it's all just a scam to get you to read the other games we have launching this fall. One of the two.

...

And, for Nintendo GameCube™ owners, The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess will be available for you this fall. An enhanced version also will be a launch title for Wii. That will all happen on … Oh look, we're out of space.
Why is this non-story on the front page of Bit-tech? It's not like it's a slow news day.

That would be damned fantastic as my birthday is the 19th
Gotta love nintendo tbh. They are the only ones who don't seem to constantly proclaim they are the best but instead let the product speak for itself.

::edit:: corrected some typos.

I really don't think you'll need $500 for the Wii.

Though I was originally skeptical at Nintendo's chances with this console, the cheap price, onvoatation over Sony and Micrsoft, the early release and the downfall(ing) of the PS3 have made me a fan of thsi new console, and though at first i won't get one, because of the cheap price and innovation, like many other people I would buy a Wii to supplement my other console....
The price is great and I hope that the Wii is successful and creates a niche for itself in the world of family gaming and party games.
