i don't think that intel will revoke ati licence as ati could prohibit intel from using crossfire on their chipsets like nvidia with sli. Also would not be very lawful and add to AMD case with intel

Amen to that. By cutting off ATI, Intel would have quickly cut themselves off to every ATI customer out there, which happens to be a whole lot of the population, and while nVidia might have the upperhand for now, it may not always ring true. If and when ATI releases a killer card, is a gaming enthusiast going to look into $1000 CPUs that give him/her a few more FPS, or a $500 card that will give him/her a few dozen more FPS and better image quality?

In the computer graphics market, professional designers to gamers alike, the graphics card is integral to performance, and most often enough, a CPU is not the only deciding factor.

if they do, AMD win the antitrust suit against intel immediately, because it's obvious that they'd have been strongarmed by them. so they can't.

Steady as she goes

Intel and ATI will not want to 'shoot themselves in the foot to spite the face' as both have made big investments in their current platforms.

Just don't expect ATI or Intel to give out the next licences to each other.

Like the Intel Extreme onboard and over-hyped GPU?

I really do wish ATI and Intel would have both gone with SLI or crossfire. I mean the concept is the same, but you have to have different mother-boards.
