But it will be an 18 game for adults. The US has the problem of the R17 versus AO which I still think is obsurd.
If they assume children will be playing it then there's something wrong with the system. As my argument always stands: do they assume children will be exposed to adult cinema releases too? DVDs?
The more they petition to ban it the more free advertising it will get and the more the kids will want to play it. It's the inevitable consequence.

Pleeeease tell me you can hot coffee the cheerleaders. Bwahaha talk about nails in the coffin.

What can I say? I hope they all choke, is it a violent thing to say? Yes. Are these morons utterly stupid and undeserving of the ability named thought? Yes.

ninja-edit: Oh and the study was done on 39 people, so is therefore irrelevent or close to it.

Remember, this is America we're talking about.. blame everyone but the parents or the kids. Pointing the finger is much easier than parenting your child's life properly.

/sigh

Based on a Private School Maybe? I like how in the debate Jack Thompson he trys to argue agisnt parent responiblity. In the end it is the responsiblity of the parent to know what they buy for there kids and to know somewhat of what they do. But this is how thing work in america if you don't like it sue them.

So that when it happens we end up with a nation of kids in mental institutions and/or curl up in a corner in the fetal position??

Or even worse walk over and say "you know you shouldn't do that".. Yea that will over flow the hospitals real quick.

Oh my God. This trailer makes me want this game so bad. It's like GTA set in a kids world. Sure there won't be murdering [will there? ] but it nails some typical public/private school ******** that we have to go through. I don't care if they make it AO, as long as they don't ban the game then I'll still be able to legally buy it. Screw those damn parents that have no idea wtf they are getting their kids and are mindless slaves to their children. I once saw a kid who was about 6-7 in a clothing store walking around playing Liberty City Stories on a PSP. It's those parents like that that screw us.

its quite intresting that when gta london came out people wernt suddenly talking in cockney rhyming slang and murdering people and stealing cars for no reason, or that no one was running around with chainsaws when they had just seen texas chainsaw massacre.
logical thinking is a pretty nice thing to have, too bad these protestors dont have any mental capasity at all. =\

Another fine example of goverment taking the responsibility of parenting away from the parents.

And people wonder whats wrong with society.

It doesn't look that good. I not supporting jack in that we should get rid of the game, but it doesn't look like a fun game compared to the GTA series.

Jack Thompson has gone to far with his thinking about this subject. He says that studies show that people become more violent when playing violent games. Some studies prove that, others prove the opposite. So theres nothing proven.
I think violent games have a violent effect on some people, namely the people that are born violent that for example like to pull out a spiders legs and hurt animals. Most people will see Bully like its meant to be seen. A fun game. The game is rated so the parent should decide if their "younger then the rating" children may play the game or not.
If the not all that realistic Bully causes these protests, what will the nextgen GTA4 cause

Hitler obviously played violent computer games as a child, as well as every other sick ******* that ever existed. Oh it's nothing to do with the parenting, the kids up-bringing, the environment/society they live in or the company they keep.

It's just another cheap excuse for a problem, something to pin it all on so they dont have pin it on the real cause. For someone to do something as extreme as killing multiple people it has to be far deeper rooted than a few years of playing "video" games. I have been playing violent games since I was a kid but if anything it's reinforced the rights and wrongs my parents have taught me.

If your going to ban anything why not Religion?, sounds like a redicoulous idea but how many people have been killed/murdered because of it? (take that with a grain of salt plz).

Basically, these parents need to take more responsobility for there children and what they do, and maybe open there minds up instead of blaming everything but the real cause. Why not stop wasting time trying to ban everything and help teach other parents how to do a better job with there children, seeing as kids dont come with a manual...

When will america learn that its their stupid right for arms thats to blame and not computer games, films or music.

The game is 18+ so kids should not be playing it. Only way they play it is because their parents buy them it. So blame the stupid parents

I have played hundreds of games like Mortal Kombat, GTA and not once have I shown any violence to anybody or threatend anyone and I dont even swear, only when I hit myself with the hammer sticking a picture up.

Its how you were brought up. ITs just a game and not real life. Just another way to hide the fact that some parents are not fit to be parents.
