they have been selling the pink version for a while now, i think Ninty are in a better position than Sony because as Ninty Ds.Liteit a more unisex product and not only that but it caters more to the females with the games like Nintendogs and princess peach.

I totally agree that Nintendo is more suited to this than Sony.
My g/f has a DS (but refuses a pink one because of the stereotypes) purely because the types of game cater more for her taste (inventive/unique/interactive).
Her favourite TV based consoles however are the XBOX and GameCube, once again, she prefers the types of games on offer. The other large deciding factor is the fact that the PS2 controller is plain horrible to hold.

But yeah, Nintendo already did this with the original DS so it's nothing new

Still atleast companies are now realising female gamers are just as important as male ones.

My girlfriend things a pink PS2 and a pink DS is well cool, in-fact, probably every girl I know would get a pink one over a plain one.

There are also quite a few games girls like, not all of them like big explosions (well I think every girl in the entire world loves burnout for some reason) so not alot of them play games like Halo and Call of Duty, those are boys games. Most girls (even my mum) tend to like platformers, the more bright colours the better.

If only we could teach them the satisfaction of a well placed headshot.

The use of the Pink colours is nothing new for nintendo however it will help female gamers to use the products. Some will hate the colour and some will love it but in the end as long as they can get into the swing of things then im all for it!

And on a personal note, i managed to find an elusive gaming woman and was delighted to find out that she enjoyed playing UT

she was pritty good at the time now shes gotten worse due to lack of practice. Good job i still have "natural talent" as shed kick my arse!

NOTE - "natural talent" = me spending time to make sure i dont loose.

I think pink is more suited to the color of a DS than a PSP. I can live with a pink DS but a pink PSP!

hmm. You guys know that the top WarCraft 3 player in Singapore is a girl? A very pretty one, Miss Singapore if I am not mistaken.

Yeah there is no girls/boys game. they're all the same. after all, girls do watch action movies too right?. my sisters, enjoy Resident Evil 4 on GameCube more than I do, as for me, I find Wind Waker much more memorable.(nothing beats Metroid Prime though).

I agree! As a female gamer I find that pink thing disgusting.
