Not going to work well enough. Its like the competitors to myspace don't really succeed.

You're not going to take people off a site they know works.

Youtube (IMO) is only beaten by Google because it has HUGE videos on it

Interesting that it's going under the whole MSN brand name instead of Windows Live, although it sort of makes sense when you consider their involvement with TV through MSNBC. I don't see it being much of a problem- I never go directly to youtube or Google Video, just whichever takes my fancy really, and where I prefer Live Spaces to Myspace anyway this is just adding another string to their bow. I doubt it'll create enough competition to overtake youtube as such but I don't see it failing miserable either. It's going to have more of an effect on helping Live Spaces catch up with Myspace than anything.

Using YouTube myself and honestly I can't imagine switching to MS' whateverit'scalled. YouTube has become too big even for MS in my opinion.

gonna be an interesting battle

youtube videos are always too small, the Google ones are better for that, but the codec sucks

maybe MS can fix these issues, personally i don't like youtube a lot, but i don't really look on many video sites
There's just too much crap now, its boring

Here's an idea. How about Microsoft actually try and come up with innovative new products and services, instead of launching 'killer' and 'rival' products to everything.

Oh bloody hell, would microsoft keep its big, un-imaginative, monopolistic nose out of something for once. They never do a good job of the new stuff they try. A good operating system would be a nice start.

What a great start to your posting record on these forums Welcome anyway. I'd like to know what you think Microsoft has screwed up recently- the whole Windows Live initiative is one of the best things to come out of Redmond in years and live.com one of the best sites I've ever used. They're also pouring out some great software, and Vista looks set to be a great OS judging by the pre-releases. Maybe you'd like to support your opinion with some facts?

Guess he won't stay here for too long now... you made him scared.
