GPU does work faster then a CPU, hence why this should be fun to see it happen, and why ATi PPU style units should be powerful

Would this affect the noise of the fan? Most GFX cards are nice and quiet when not being used for games. If they're busy folding, the fan might have to keep coming on

sinizterguy is an unknown quantity at this point
The beta was meant to be out yesterday.

What about Crossfire setups, do you run 2 separate WUs, or just one which works on both cards?

Rocket733 will become famous soon enough
Right now they recommend just one WU for both cards, they saw a performance decrease with trying to use crossfire to get more work done.

Are Nvidia thinking of entering the game? I would love to use my card?

Sames worries here. My XT is noisy enough when playing games, but then, I have the speakers turned on...having that noise when not playing is simply unbearable.

The good thing is that if developers start to come with more uses for GPUs, both nVidia and ATI will be forced to take the Intel/AMD route and go for more efficient processors. GPUs are getting to ridiculous amount of energy wasted and heat generated...

I read somewhere (this month's Custom PC I believe), that Nvidia announced that they wont be involved in Folding anytime soon.

But I give them 2 months before they jump on the bandwagon...

Is this going to be a folding specific thing or a patch for BOINC? If the latter I'd like to use it for SETI@home units. At least, I would when nVidia gets off their tails and makes it happen. Seems like this should really be handled as a standard API from within BOINC,

It's a BETA client, read the F@H ATI FAQ and give them feedback .

http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-ATI.html

Catalyst 6.10 is seemingly rather infant, but 6.5 should be better.
