Err of course we don't mind waiting Sony, just because someone eventually buys the product doesn't mean they are not angered or disillusioned by these delays. I think you just lost another customer...the delay persuaded me to buy a 360...quite frankly im sick of the attitude you have towards your customers and Europe. Out of principal i will doubt ill buy the console now, or at least get one second hand so it doesn't register as a sale (ill also get it chipped so you make no money out of my Sony).

As a good faith gesture, we should have got 100,000-200,000 units and america's count should have been reduced to compensate for that. That way at least a whole continent wouldn't be pissed off at you for shafting us, even if it was near impossible to purchase the console. Sony's full of arrogant *****

Does the delay have anything to do with differing policies in europe?

And sony yet another low blow. People do not appreciate their opinions forced upon them. With as long as this console has been pushed back, and now even farther back for europe what kind of message does that send?

I think vista and the ps3 have been sharing trade secrets on how to make your product come 2 years after we thought it would.

What a belligerent attitude. Was it Ken that said Sony weren't selling us a console, they were selling us the priveledge of owning the best thing since sliced bread?

I think (i.e. brief google) the sales figures of current Playstations are something near 40% US, 40% UK and 20% Japan, so you'd have thought that would've given someone some idea regarding distribution.

the problem is he is exactly right. people dont mind waiting and will still buy it however late it is. i bet if you were to ask on a playstation forum if anyone minded the delay and if it would affect their buying it most people would say no they will still get it. of course normal people may be affected, fanboys never go off course

there are always people that have to have it no matter what. but I like to think that most sensible people will look at how arrogant sony have become, and go out and gat a 360 or wii or both. For the record I will get a Wii as it is the only one that intrests me.

Sony might have a PR division that makes a Viking raiding party appear sensitive to the needs of the consumer, but at the end of the day they are no more and no less mercenary than any other corporation in their field. So they don't hide it as well as Nintendo or Microsoft, that's because they have a team of angry mountain gorillas writing their press releases that's all.

What we all have to bear in mind here is that what counts is the Product. If Sony runs their mouth and so on and so forth and they deliver a pile of crap for a finished product then Game Over. But if the console is good and the games support matches up I don't care if there's a Sony employee standing in the shop window mooning me when I buy one.

The lesson here boys and girls is that PR is PR. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Sometimes it's bloody terrible. But if you let the PRs make your decisions for you then you're going to get burned, expensively and often.

the delay will piss off users but they will still buy it.
there is a upside to the delay and that is that they can use the US / Japan markets as giant beta testers meaning that by the time us lot over here finally get the thing it might actually work alright.
but if the High def dvds come down to a reasonable price then id favour just getting one of them and sticking with a PC as PC's will always kick consoles ass :P

Be fair, consoles sometimes have the hardware edge over a PC for a whole month after they come out.
