I would rather have that ultra efficient laptop that Tim posted about in the press releases.
PS: I'm blaming Tim atm for it not coming out in the UK as if he didn't tell us about it I wouldn't care

Never knew they'd gone up to $200. Either way I'm inclined to agree with Spec on this one...even if they do appear on ebay, it'd be wrong of any of us to buy one. There are tons of gadgets and lappies that most of us can easily afford, so it's only fair that for once this less well off kids have something cheap that us richer peeps can't get our hands on. Until they're officially released in well developed countries, I won't be getting one.

Heres an idea, selling to the OLPC to er, anyone that wants one. Make them $300 per laptop on the "retail" version, offer them in "fresh new colours" and use it to help fund the ones going to the poorer economies.
Am I the only one that see's this as a good idea? After all I know in the UK there are plenty of families that cant afford to buy a laptop that would love the option of a simple cheap machine for thier kids.

I think that's a very good idea, Cabe. Make those of us who can afford $300 help those who can't afford a $200 laptop.
