I might go to GAME just for the bacon butty. Are they going to be grilling the bacon on the PS3 itself?

We all know that the Playstation 3 is going to be good in a year or two when it gets some good games and a price drop, but to buy one any time before then is just pure madness, you're paying £450 to play Motorstorm.

I went and bought a 360 as soon as they announced they were taking out the emotion chip, I must say that I and my wallet are happy with the decision.
I might buy one in a couple of years when PC gaming is miles ahead of it again, hopefully they will be £99 by then.

Yeh, but for some of us who do contract work, £450 is half a day's wage.. So why not? You can't take it with you, so enjoy it while you can!

The delay could at least mean that Sony will finally do something right and not leave anyone disappointed, unlike Nintendo or Microsoft , who seem to be barely capable of when it comes to console availability.

Sony. Enough Units. Same sentence. Brain overload!

I suppose everyone forgets the USA launch?

I can not even come close to explianing how much i DONT want a PS3 och a 360 or a damned wii. I think the hype has gone way beyond sanity.

A Fast pc with Call of duty 2 and a case of beer is all i need and for me no console in the world can beat that!!

With the vague hint of a rumor of FFXIII possibly coming to the 360, the tiniest chance that I might ever end up with a PS3 died. But now I'm going to hold out on that to see if the upgraded 'elite' version materializes (and until I have a source of income again).

Bet it'll be a madly successful launch though - nobody going home empty-handed

Trusted Reviews have a nice review up - concluding that it's great, but not worth recommending right now. I didn't realise how shiny it is!

Has anyone here purchased one?

I'm suprised that bit-tech haven't reported on Sony's philanthropism for their die hard fans. As much as we love to hate Sony these days I think it's great that they gave free HD TVs and cab rides to the guys waiting out in the cold this morning. I don't really know what to make of it. It's rather unprecedented.

Apparently microsoft gave away some TV's (with the HD player launch?) in the past so its not quite unprecedented, though its still a fair chunk of money they've dropped there.

Desperation or really nice UK bosses or both ? I have no idea.

went to my local shopping center, saw a total of 61 PS3s in 3 shops plus some demo units, one had 4 the other had 12 and the other had the rest, i saw 8 working titles in several stores..... it was unreal.... compared to the launch of the wii.... the demo units were being played.... most of them on SDTVs....... but i saw no one buying one..... most of the units that were sold were pre-orders. The wii was sold out long before it was launched almost everywhere popular, i managed to locate a unit, the last unit, from a local supermarket for a friend.
