AND!!! Do u know how to get rid of that STUPID image "preview" program as the default over say psp?

Umm... you'll have to look in the psp help file but I think if you hold something like shift down while it's starting up it will restore all it's file associations.

Cheers,

Ok in psp7 (after a bit of hunting) go to 'file' - 'preferences' - 'file format associations' and tick the files you want to auto load into psp when you double click them

Welcome to the boards m8..........

You can also change associations in Tools>Folder Options>File Types ......... just find jpeg and whatnot.........

In IE and/or normal explorer go to view and select "status bar"..........brings the bottom bars back.

For the bit down the side go to Tools>Folder Options>General now look at Tasks and make sure "show common tasks in folders" is shown.

Humm the status bar thing works. But XP dose keep removing it again and I can get the vertical bar in windows explorer if I remove the folders bar on the left but as soon as I turn the folders bar on the preview bar disapears!!!

Also it is not as strait forward as that with the preview program taking over all images instead of psp. When u right click on the image can click open it will open in psp but the default action is not open it is preview! ARR!

sounds like another classic case of a microsoft operating system taking control of your computer.

They think they know best...so the make it such that the OS handles this and that by default, and makes it bloody hard for anything else to do the job...ie the Whole Netscape issue.

maybe there will be a version of PSP designed for XP which has an install program that takes control properly....

other than that....you could always go back to 2k...
