Finding IT Security Jobs?

I've been thinking I fancy a career in IT security.

Not sure where to start looking though.
Any suggestions from you lot?

I'll be doing the usual google searches later on when I'm not at work.
Just wondered if anyone knew of any big names in IT security I could look into?
Any other pointers or suggestions would be welcomed.

TIA.

Most of the bigger companies maintain their own in house IT departments.
Where I work, BSkyB we have an IT department of several hundred people, that's made up of developers, analysts, service desk, desktop support, and security.

Another sector to consider would be Banking, even with the economy in the crapper they still have maintain their IT/IS departments.

The biggest employers of IT Security are probably the Government (MOD) and IT-Centric companies (Cisco/Siemens)

Your likely going to need to do some work as a sys admin/network technichian first. Plus something like a CISSP is going to help you a lot here.

The biggest IT security employer is defiantly (and without any doubt) the financial sector...

If you're interested in consulting all the major players have a security/risk division which address IT related security aspects. Some examples of the international consulting companies that have security divisions includes IBM Global Services, Accenture, Deloitte Consulting, etc.
