Hi,

Not sure what your asking here....

Are you wondering if you need to upgrade / re-install the OS when putting new parts in?

As a rule of thumb a new motherboard and cpu install normally means a fresh install of the OS.

I personally would not use an existing OS on a new build because it would probably cause lots of conflicts. It would also hamper your fault finding if a new part throws a wobbler.

I've just upgraded from a Q6600(3.4ghz 4gb) on an Asus P5E(flashed to a formula maximus) to an i7 920(4ghz 6gb)on an Asus p6t-se running windows 7 oem 64 with not a problem, updated itself and rebooted perfect. Bloody amazed me !

I've been using Windows 7 since the 7000 beta, and you never have to touch a driver disk anymore, its rather fantastic.
