Like the new concept. I'm amazed that motherboard fits in there with the lid closed.

Yeah the original drive bays had to go though! I don't think any aftermarket (non-AMD) coolers will fit if i decide to go that route W/c is pretty much a no-go as I don't want the case to get bigger!

Second go at a rear panel. Will be painted or frosted. The panel needs to lose ~2mm on the lefthand side to fit properly :/

Scratch build smaller or persevere with the Dell case?

I'm putting it to the community to vote.

Having a go at designing a new case - is it weird I do my best design work intoxicated and cranking dubstep?

Updates!

After umming and ahhing over the board and many different designs over @ losias.net, I have started again!

I am basing the design on this rendering by a deviantart member:
http://modelight.deviantart.com/art/...-case-96180735

Hard at design/mod work:

Rear panel with mesh (need to trim so it's not over expansion slots/psu bay)

Front panel - need to figure out how to do the fan grille/finalise hole placement! The rectangle cut out on the side is for the slim optical.

Rear panel fitted (needs some adjusting but almost there!

BTW The first pic is my son using Project Aurora. XD

Mods: Please don't shuffle this to Project logs just yet - need to create a tidier, better organised thread for the full project - this one is a shambles, as was aurora :/
