Opinions on this monitor?
I'm looking for a new monitor its just for gaming really and I will be sitting right in front so viewing angles not a issue really.
I was looking at this one but I know nothing about them so I'm wondering if anyone has a opinion on it. Its the Hanns.G HH281HPB http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Monit...roductId=40124

good value for money, generic TN and you'll have huge text due to laughably low resolution.

Yeah the resolution was what worried me too but without paying big bucks there dont seem to be any choice's, Some I've seen have even lower res.

well, at least it's 1920x1200, not 1080p pansi monitors.
lol, not wanting to spend big bucks on monitor, but you splash out on two 480's? monitors don't need to change for 5 years whereas graphics cards need to be changed every 2 year or so. look, if you don't buy the Dell U2711 or a high resolution display, i demand you give those 480's to me. my 5870 is struggling with the U2711's resolution

I dont like it. Besides, as far as I'm aware those monitors dont do 3D surround sound. Sure you may get basic depth of field, but for 3D surround sound you really ought to be looking at:
This 24" Or this 24" or if too expensive you may have to drop to 3 22" But if your not after 3D, just get a few decent 24" monitors. I have a one and sure I'd be happy with more but it's a very good size for gaming. |

I should have made more clear I'm not bothered with the 3D tbh the 2D is really what I want.
I dont want to go that low resolution they are all to low. I have a 24in @ 1920 X 1200 but I'll never be able to get 2 more of those its a 6ms one and its showing its age now. but these are the requirements for the surround system. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dv-sys...echnology.html

Surround or eyefinity is overrated. So many games, mostly the online competitive ones like starcraft doesn't allow crazy wide aspect ratios. Most games max out at 16:9

28" @ 1920x1200 will look awful. That's far too low res for such a big screen. You may as well get a 1080p TV with a VA panel and enjoy better quality and better inputs instead of buying a monitor of that size and resolution.
There's no way I'd sacrifice resolution and quality just so I can have 3 screens, especially as so many games don't play nice with nvidia surround and eyefinity.

Well I've made my mind up I'm going to get a high res samy or dell first and maybe add more later.
So I just need to pull some off the note's out from my mattress now.

i'm in a similar situation as far as looking for a gaming monitor. i had a 28" hanns-g 1920x1200 that was damaged after a year or so and i'm looking to spend up to $350 US on a replacement.
the old monitor was a nice upgrade from my generic 22" flat screen and was nice for gaming except for the visuals "left 4 dead 2" where the dark areas were very fuzzy, i just imagined it was a swarm of flies or locus gathering for the rapture. this was probably the same for all steam engine games. watching DVDs was also disappointing quality wise but HD video was lovely. articles i have read recommend going with the biggest size and resolution you can get for the price as long as the refresh rate is 2m-3m. also tom's hardware says my HD 5770 runs great at 1920x1200 which would lead me towards another hanns-g because of the cost even though i would rate my last one as good but not great. these are the ones i was considering: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-052-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-043-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-036-_-Product |

I'm using a yuraku 24in 1920 X 1200 ATM I cant fault the picture on it TBH.
But its getting old and I want something bigger and better and from what I'm hearing and from the research a 27in @ 1920 X 1200 would not be as good a quality picture as the one I've got already, To me that would be a downgrade, Something I couldn't live with.
