Does my hardware work well together?

hi bit-tech ,

I got a little problem, that i need to get solved, sometimes my PC just lagges too "sleep" i dunno what the problem could be,
im not a big "Hardware-Geek" thats why im asking question + im from denmark, that could explain if i got some baaad english ,

ok. now for my setup,

everything will be taken from "Speccy"

CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 955 ( watercooled )

RAM : 8.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 400MHz (5-5-5-18)

MotherBoard : ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4N78 (AM2)

GFX : ATI Radeon HD 5850 ( watercooled )

PSU: 550W Cosair

Harddrive : 1. 244GB Hitachi Hitachi HDT725025VLA380 (IDE)
2. 977GB Western Digital WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1 (IDE)


this should be around it, i hope someone will be able to help me out,

Well, I'll tell you something that may or may not help; I had the M4N78 ( 1st and 2nd revisions ) in m-atx flavour; neither of them liked a reasonably high-end cpu, both would 'hang' for no reason and totally at random ( often when trying to watch videos or anything which required a bit of cpu power ).

Do you really only have a 1.2 & 2.9GB HDDs, or should that be TBs?..

Wouldn't an AM2 motherboard bottleneck a Pehnom 2? Also, IDE hard drives?

I'm no expert here, but I believe he's referring to hard drives 1 and 2.

nooo it was like 1st and 2nd =) i have a 244GB and a 9xxGB

that hardware should be fine.

Could you try and give a better explanation of the problem. You say it seems to hang? what are you doing when it hangs? does it recover?

yeah software end can be trickey.. putting it together is like legos- most people can do it

check your event viewer and post it back here.. sure someone will get back with a fix
