2600k - fantastic for BigADV?

As title - huge overclock, low temps and power draw and only slightly slower than hexacores. Thoughts?

It should be looking at the reviews.

Bit-tech if you're reading, can you test it asap please.

PS can you do it with the 2500K and 2600K as they're both good overclockers, but one is $100 cheaper.

Found these.

Well, remember that the 2500K is not hyper-threaded and thus you couldn't run BigADV.

50k PPD? And on a non bigadv work unit?
Thats pretty mental no? Don't the current i7 9xx (excluding the 980/970) get like 30k?

Also when they have not OC'd the 2600 its very similar to the 8 series.... Remember that has a higher stock

875 is 2.9 stock
2600 is 3.4 ghz...

So...

clock for clock 875 is 15% slower so you would expect 15% difference off the bat

In seconds 875 took 219 seconds
2600 took 176 seconds

IN terms of seconds the 875 does the business 20% slower than the 2600...

So all things considered on a clock for clock comparison the 2600 is 5% quicker...

Happy for this to be shot at now

This takes no consideration to bang for buck overclocking, power consunption blah blah blah

older i7-920-950 should start going cheap soon (wish stupid ebayers would stop biding to retail prices thought anything up to 960 should sell for less then £130 as they was 3-4 months before xmas mad prices around that time)
