Antec TP650w Pin Removal Help?
Well guys, I got myself the phobya pin removal set and whatever I do; can't seem to get the connectors out on the 24, I've checked diagrams and everything and I know I'm doing it right. I've also tried staples.
Can one of you guys please point out where I'm going wrong or if you've had problems doing this on the same power supply. If all else fails I'll buy an extension. Cheers.

the tool needed to do this has 2 flat pins on it(just went out to the workshop to check and striped a old psu 24 pin header in less than 30 secs!)one pin on the tool lifts the connector up and the other pin pushes the locking barb down then you just pull the wire out(with the tool still in) also note that after you take the pins out its best to get a very thin blade and bend the locking barb back up so you get a nice "click" when refitting.hope this helps.

I had the same problem on my OCZ modstream in the end I bought an extension. However I recently went back to tackle it after learning a few tricks while sleeving the rest of the cables.
1. Before inserting the tool try "wiggling" the cable and pushing it towards the connector. 2. When inserting the tool, also push the cable towards the connector (as if you were pushing the pin back in) 3. Some pins can be really hard to remove even with the correct method and just require a bit more force. within reason of course! don't go blaming me if it snaps :P Well that's all I have, hope it helps and good luck

Totally agree with the above. I ended up busting two tools before I went for the extension.

Cheers guys, I've been forgetting to update my thread! I'm about 2 thirds of the way through doing an extension.
