The U2711 is 16:9, but of course a much higher resolution.
Essentially, your choice is: 1x U2710 (16:9 - 2560 x 1440) or 2x U2410 (16:10 - 1920x1200) Well it depends on you. 1 monitor setup is better for gaming, as you don't have any multi-monitor lack of support (game is only on 1 screen, so the other screens still shows the desktop). 2 monitors setup will provide you with better multitasking, and it's 16:10. More and more games support multiple monitors, but not all. Also, your GPU will run hotter as it needs more speed to sync both in drawing, so, depending on your cooling solution, a bit louder system, unless you attach each monitor on separate graphic cards. Else then that, you have the U3011, which is the U2711, but the 16:10 format. It all comes down to, what is more important to you. Of and you have to consider that SD quality videos, will look even worse on the U2711/U3011, as, you guest it, needs to stretch it even more to fit it when you full screen it. To me, both setup are perfect, and excellent for what you paying for. It's really preference.

Thanks Goodbytes for the Pm and the information above, just been on the phone to Dell Uk and they are going to send me a quotation with the best price....
I think one large screen will be better for home use as I rarely multi-task! The main reason for wanting 16:10 is to fit more on the screen, you don't get all that much on a 24" 1920 x 1080 monitor (I use 2 at work).

It was a home use quotation not a small business one which was my mistake.

Seems to be lots of concern about input lag on the U2711 and nearly all reviews say that it is not ideal for gaming.
What other alternatives are there?

Most reviews mention that you can detect input lag in first person shooters:
TFT Central review anandtech review But if you own one and can't really detect any lag then I will believe you!

There seems to be allot of bad reviews on monitors which are pure awesomeness! (Don't believe everything you read!)
This is why I done my review of the LG IPS231P-BN, as some reviews sites stated it had bad lag, and yet I have not had any, and many people who have owned the monitor will state the same as me.

problem with review sites are that they review 120Hz TN monitors and then expect IPS to feel the same. truth in the matter is that yes there are minor lag difference, it's something you got to sacrifice. the better image quality, the larger input lag.
TN is terrible, but fast. IPS is good at colours and have reasonable response time. PVA has extremely beautiful colours, but has slow response times. IPS will never be as fast as TN, but it's good enough for casual gamers who are not playing split second twitchy shooters.

Well I just wanted to check to see if it was an issue! But probably play similar games to you guys, L4D2, TF2, Dirt 3, BF3 when it comes out, Just Cause 2 etc... so I guess it will be fine

Also to note, that IPS panels did some huge improvement in speed and lower input lag over the last couple generations. So people still assume that IPS is a big no for gaming, and TN is the only option, but that is simply not true.
I don't know about you guys, but I play games for entertainment, and to have a blast... not to get frustrated in trying to be best of the best. I die a lot in multi-player games.. so what.. I am having my fun.

LOL!
I blame my non-gaming class printer. Latency is too big, and I don't have 20 macro keys,

Get 3 of anything if you can. Seriously, you'll never ever go back once you play in triple.

Hmm no.. I would prefer a descent monitor than 3 crappy ones.
At least with 1 I can enjoy better my computer.
