Logitech G27 died :(

Hey all,

Anyone here got a G27?

Mine is 2 months old, been working perfectly and was even using it last night.

Plugged in the USB this evening to have a quick blast on NFS2.....and nothing! It just makes a buzz/humm from the wheel.

Ive been through the logitech forums and tried all the suggestions about using a different power lead, and trying a different power socket etc. But the problem ( i think) is with the hard wired USB.

It just doesnt come to life at all when plugged in via USB, windows doesnt flinch and neither does the wheel.

Anyone else had this issue? Im going to contact Dabs.com (where i bought it) to arrange a new one in the morning

Really gutted its happened so soon, especially with a 'quality' piece of kit.

Sounds like bad luck - get Logitech on the horn direct. They have really excellent CS.

I found dabs.com to be pretty decent for returns over the years so it shouldn't be an issue.

If it is then bookmark this thread...

Logitech warranty service is above and beyond.
You won't have to ship it to them.. no sir. They will send you a NEW (not refurbished) one, retail box with everything it originally comes from, fairly fast. You will be surprised. Once you experience them, you will no longer look for a different company.

Check out these kick-ass stories about Logitech:

Plus, if you search in this very same forum, they are A LOT more excellent similar stories.

Logitech insisted I go through dabs as its only a couple of months old. They said they only deal with it after 12 months.

Dabs are coming tomorrow to collect it and will not supply a new one or repair it until they have tested it .

Bit worrying that in the confirmation email they sent it says repair.... I would prefer a straight new one with a fresh warranty.

Hmmm that's unlike Logitech - when my G9 broke after only six months I received a brand new G9x only two days after contacting them.

I think that because the G27 is such an expensive piece of kit they are probably playing it safe; given their amazing and very trusting customer service, it wouldn't surprise me if some people have tried to abuse it in the past, hence the trepidation on their part.

Nothing to worry about - I'm sure you will get a new one.

Agreed, it does not make any sense. This is not Logitech.
Must be an exception.

Nope since yesterday or the day before Logitech has changed policy. Anything over 20 pounds has to be sent in for testing due to to much fraud.

Ahh, That's a real shame, as Logitech have the BEST Customer Service i have ever had the pleasure to deal with. I work in a Customer Service based job, for a company renowned for it's service.

I can't believe people too complete advantage of this system.
This is why why we can't have nice things, and this is why, every time you call, you have to pass hours and hours doing idiotic diagnostic tests.

It will probably be a fresh one if the fault is a little too technical to fix. Don't worry, it's dabs problem to put this right! Also be aware if you paid on credit card you have a good deal of legal weight you can throw behind getting your money back if dabs kick up a fuss. Otherwise if it was on Visa/Debit card then other options are available.

Well, dabs picked up the wheel today.

Having read the email again it saya that it will be sent to the manufacturer for repair, and that it will take 4-6 weeks!!! Eeek!

I really hope that a) it doesnt take that long and b) they give me a new one rather than repair this one.

Im really dissapointed in the product to be honest. It was quite an expenditure for me and the cheaper dfgt has outlasted it 5x times over!

Speaking of which, im using the dfgt as a backup and the feedback feels really good on shift 2, if it wasnt for poor pedals and noisy gearing I would almost prefer it!
