Slight merging in a few of the holes, but not to evident in real life, bit of battina
.Used 8mm drill, as i cba to dig out a 7mm. The fan fits very tightly, so will route out a tad from the internal bays to allow perfecto fit tomoz. ![]()

Hmmmmmmmmmm
Experimental. Plank, cut out circle, cut circle in half, trimmed to length, belt sanded shape, shaped out left/right sides for thumbs, carved finger holes. See how it goes, if i decide to complete it.

Correct.
No side panels as of yet for case, plane, wont be suitable quite for the size i need, doing some thinking on design.# |

Thanks the beast,
I actually drew round my fingers to work the finger slot cutouts, so in theroey its exact fit for my hand, may make it harder for other users, but hey .Yeah Andy, cant wait to get the grill, only mismatch i can see is that i have offset holes and the grill has inline ones, but yeah should be cool, as Paz should then be sorting the powdering out for me Theres some slight error in the holes, but after all that work, theres no chance i can start a new one. The 120mm fan is now an exact fit , which isnt bad since its all been very close for fittings on this build and i didnt wanna push the size up any thurther. |

Decided to sort out my mobo corner support piece.
This was never gonna be something that would look in place i thought, but it is needed for support of tray, tried turning a piece, not so good, then came up with cutting a block insted, then decided a nice cross carved pattern, should look ok. Well you can decide, im thinking if i sprayed it pink, it may look like a biscuit? ![]() ![]() i beveled the bottom, may of been better to keep flat, close up pics are never the most flattering i feel though. |

Hm... how about just showing that piece of wood under the mobo tray (as a support pillar) and then secure it on the BACKSIDE with a flat piece of metal and 2 screws? In that way you won't be able to spot any metal when seen from the front side.

Thanks again guys.
With the wood mouse, ive probably started making it the wrong way, the awkward way, oh well. Yep the mobo support looks much better now, just dont look at bracket from the rear as such .Whilst i dont have trouble making stuff, designing is not really my thing, if i get a brainwave, theres always a chance bits may get improved. I think less is more in most cases on this build, i just dont wanna push the amount of bits to make the case if possible. Im likely not to do the cover bits for the radiator , but hey who knows. I may be making the side panels from solid pieces of wood glued together (dont worry it will look fine), this will be much better for 10mm thickness, and very unlikely to warp. However if i fit a window, it will probably stop any warping anyway. The plane allows upto 310mm, and dammit i need 320mm,,, typical I should be able to workaround this though. Hopefully some more updates soon, just seeing if i can borrow some wood for the side panels on a permanent basis. Cheers Waynio for comments and rep, its a very pretty build as such which to tell the truth wasnt really what i was going for originally, but hey. |

1. cut single pieces for side panel.
2. Threw them away 3. Then did it the proper way as below, due to way too much warping in above method. Joined glued separate prepared planks planed to max width of planer down to 10mm joined together glued again split in half through middle, using bandsaw giving 2 equal sides and therefore creating very strong panels and maximising the stock material,(also means that left panel is duplicate of right panel) colour matching was done to reasonable match. Whilst single pieces may of looked better, this is way stronger. If ya dont know what im talking about, here some pics .I did ask to borrow someones camera to take progress pics, but they just couldnt grasp why the hell i needed to take pics as they just assumed if i wanted to see it, I could just look at it. Tried explaining about forums and stuff, . i will try to remember camera more often when i get to work, but never sure when i will get progress done.![]() ![]() The showing edges are nice and smooth, and managed to do this on belt sander, there is a bump on inside of case panel, but not worth messing with drum sander just for that i felt, maybe i will later. Its a shame im gonna remove alot of the wood to suit the windows/panel cutouts though. Laquering still to be done, and perhaps a little colour matching, as panels are a little lighter than the rest of the case. Center hinge to be completed, but ive got to take panels of again yet for laquering/finishing etc. I was unable to resist test fitting to see what it looks. will look like. Till next update.
