Basically I cant get the game to install on Windows 7 64 bit. I had it running fine on Windows XP, but seems like its not going to install on 7. For some reason, the game thinks its installed but it isn't. The result is that I can start the game up but it crashes as the intro video finishes. I cant recall installing it on this machine and I cant find any traces of the game, control panel does not have it listed and a search brings up nothing. I manually checked my C and E drive for the game, but it does not seem to be there.

Ive tried running it in 1998/ME compatibility mode and I have tried running it as admin.

Any solutions? I gave it a Google search but did not find all that much info. Mainly the general, re-install and run in compatibility mode stuff.

Thanks for those links, I currently have a AMD 6870, so I suppose technically yes, I have an ATI card. Makes sense as I had issues getting it to work on my older laptop, which has a ATI 4870M which also had Windows 7 (It was on my older disc however, so I assumed it was just a faulty disc - bought new versions since).

I will try a few of the solutions when I can. Thinking about finding one of my old XP discs and dual booting as I want to replay the entire series. Also major thanks for the link to the Original Rainbow six on GoG, had not noticed that they had it. Im not sure where I placed my disc for the original, so could be useful.

RE Arma,Isn't there a free version of Arma 2 atm? Been meaning to check it out as ive heard good things of the series.

There is ARMA2 Free, its got low res gfx and its really a multiplayer only, so you wont have a campaign to play through.
