As stonedsurd said, the two images don't have to be the same subject, though that is the typical form. Essentially, a diptych is a method of artistic presentation in which the panel (or paper, frame, etc) is divided into two distinct sections, with each section showing one of the images. Another very popular form is the triptych, in which the panel is divided into 3 sections.

Diptych and triptych presentations were very popular in c. 16th century art, where the panels would often depict different scenes from a particular Biblical story.

Thanks and I get that. This particular person was one of those people that are pretty but not photogenic. At some point I had to nearly yell "No facebook duckface". It's my job to make her look good and this shot (one of my favorites) was actually "between" shots when she didn't think she was being photographed. This is a new trick I have learned and tend to get more genuine images... this was one of them and I tend to gravitate to those.

@Eddie Dane: Like 90% of my wedding shots I personally like are the ones where the bride/groom did not know I was taking a photo or did not pose

I'm actually pretty 50-50 on that shot. I like fluted bolts A LOT, though, so the one above is my favorite.

I've actually had to do that. I was doing a couple of shots on the beach for a couple who'd recently become engaged. They're friends of friends, so I knew them before the shoot but not too well. The woman puts her arms around the man quite naturally and lovingly, before suddenly tilting her head, looking at the camera and duckface-ing.

I just stopped and said, "You're going to regret that in five or ten years." The dude burst out laughing and high-fived me. She just looked sheepish. Fortunately, that was after the bulk of the shots were done, because she just could not give me anything useful after that. Lesson learned :/

EDIT: I mean filters, post-processing etc. Of course I can see the EXIF in Flickr - 1/125 at f/8.0 using an EF-S10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM at 10mm on a Rebel XTi. Did you use a red filter on lens to punch out the sky like that? Or is this done using a CPL filter or in software?

OMG I'm so glad you like the photos...
I need to make a car category on my Flickr as I am getting quite a collection already photos not cars

The Ford Fusion is not mine. A rental that I used in Florida. Had 30 miles on the odometer

I've been cranking out quite many photos. Issue that I have is that I have a million of photos and not too much time to process.
So what I started to do is edit few favorites straight from the mem-card not even lightroom.

I use Photoshop and this little silly shitty app called CameraBag.
It just very basic - phone like app controls for the photos.

The Pink Cadillac is done using it. Colors are made more vibrant & the red 'Light Leak' effect/filter on both sides. The yellow/orange on the left though is real sunset light.

The Ford F-150 photo though is not as impressive as it looks. It's really just a most basic snapshot on the street as I was walking by. Sadly this day there was absolute no texture in the clouds.

I was on the phone talking for awhile so had extra time to play in photoshop Got carried away and put a different clouds. And just like 5-8 adjustment layers.

Usually though I just shoot one Fstop under exposed to get the clouds. Then I make a curves adjustment layer only for the clouds & mask it. Like the bike photo or the bridge:


P.S. @Mclean007 Love the first sculpture shot. What hilarious juxtaposition on the body/bust The tones are nice & well processed. Others are great two, just don't like the second one of the abstract sculpture.

I know what people mean about a bit harsh bokeh on the Nikkor 1.4
That said I like the bokeh and concept on both photos.
My favourite is definitely the nerd bling watch though.
