Asus p8z77-v Red CPU LED
Hi guys,
I'm looking for some advice here before I RMA this board. I have bought a p8z77-v motherboard for my parents new build. Got everything plugged in and fixed up but when I power on the CPU LED is solid red. ooh around for some answers but nothing is helping. 24 and 8 pin connectors are in correctly, all connection are tight etc not sure what else to try. I have the MB as named, 2700k 750W AX750 Corsair PSU 2x4 GB 1.5v Corsair vengeance RAM. MSI 560 TI TF 2 Not sure what bios my MB is because it won't post. Green power light on MB is on and fans spin up but this is all. Really need some help on this one. Thanks. |

Did you check the CPU is installed OK and none of the socket pins are bad?

Everything seems to be ok physically. No bent pins, nothing.

Can you BIOS Flashback to see if that fixes it? 0906 dropped yesterday:

Found 2 small patches of bent pins actually. Didn't see them in the light I was working in. When repacking the board to RMA I saw them so I'm hoping this is the issue.
Thanks for your help Bindi. |

If it's anything like my board the lights next to memory, CPU are the voltage lights, if they are red then the voltage is too high you want it to be green.

I have the same problem.
Same exact mobo. Got a steady red light on boot up. No signal on monitor. Checked the pins under processor. Some were bent. Got another Mobo. Put it in. Turned on. Steady red CPU light. Checked pins. None are bent. Wtf bro. Return to store with processor "Think my processor is ****ed up" Guy takes it. Puts it in mobo infront of my face. **** worked fine. Signal to monitor and everything. I went back to my barracks. Tried it again. Still red light. Check all connectors. All good. Took graphics card out. To no avail. Dunno what the ****s up. Its not my mobo or processor. Wtf is up.

I just built a computer with this same motherboard with the same problem. Turns out the reset switch was broken. Try to just unplug the reset switch cable for the front panel.
