I'm still holding off a few months to see how things turn out. My main requirement is more than 2GB vram because of the resolution I run.
So with £400 to spend I think I would be better off waiting until August/September. Still benches look pretty decent.

Thanks for that info, and look forward to seeing the review Baz.
I bet they do come in rather close in price, although I don't see why Nvidia would want to split sales? If it is reasonably priced, it will most like trash AMDs offerings. Also, the power consumption numbers look strange to me in that review - it draws more power than some variants of the 680 (if I read it correctly last night). I would have hoped to see even more frugal power draw... This sets the stage nicely for the 660 though, faster than a 580 with significant power savings for >£200? |

Why would you put the power sockets there ?
It looks awful, they should re-think that, as I won't be able to tuck it under my PSU like that, similar to why my GTX 460 was swapped for a HD 5870... GRRRR ! dunx

I like the look of the Gigabyte GTX 670. It appears the heatsink makes contact with the VRAM which would be extra nice for cooling. Also longitudinal heatpipes which have proven to work very well in recent times. I think Gigabyte have stolen some ideas from ASUS! Besides the heatpipe orientation they're also using a rigid frame along the SLI prongs!

I am so tempted by one of these for my wife's machine.
Although some just might say that a GTX670 would be a tad overkill for the 1366x768 resolution TV that it is currently connected to (it is acting like a big console, HTPC and TV streamer). Mind you there is always the option of sticking two in my main Surround machine.... Of course that would leave her machine with a GTX680....

More importantly, when are Bit-tech going to review the Radeon HD9999?

Seems Legit.
I want two of those 670's, simply because I wonder if it's possible to mod the backplate on the cooler to let it pull air from both sides. That would be awesome for SLI setups.

If this thing comes out and is the same price as the 580, with more fps, I'm gonna switch to one of these.

The size of the card means there must be some sacrifices somewhere, apaprently it's only a 4+2 power phase, so I don't see that much overclocking out of the stock cards, on the flipside; the sheer size means you can do some fun things with the card.
I'd think that the only reason the fan overhangs the rear of the card is the Vapour Chamber, that must be the smallest they could make the heatsink solution without going to heatpipes.
