Graphic card upgrade

I have a MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II 2GD5/OC
I am thinking of upgrading this to save power when I move out so i have two questions

How much could i get for the card? Still have the box it came in.

and what should I replace it with? I would like to water cool this card someday so no custom PCBs would be so much better and I don't want to be spending lots on this new card maybe £50

thanks for your help guys

Modern cards consume so little power when idling I really don't think it's worth the hassle. There are much easier ways to save on the electricity bill (and lets not even get into all the other ways you can save the couple of pounds...)

Since its the 2GB version its probably worth £115ish. You wouldn't get anything new for £165 that would be much better than what you have already, but if you wen't second hand you could probably pick up a GTX 570 (again, not even that much better than what you have already)

I'd say keep it awhile longer.

Ah, well the 7850 is an option for sure, definitely faster than your 560ti but they seem to start at about £185

Regarding the 6xx series, the only two options right now are the 670 @ £310+ or the 680 @ £400+.

No sign of the 660.....yet

Maybe your just looking for a bad excuse to buy new gear Who can blame you. New stuff is great!

Anyways I reckon that if you take the money saved in power by upgrading and compare it to how long it would take to repay the actual cost of upgrading it wouldn't be worth it.

I might be shot for saying this. But if your moving out for the first time it might be a good idea to cut out the non essentials for a short time(like buying new hardware, paying for high speed uncapped broadband etc) until you find your feet with the bills after which point you can go nuts.
