Stormwolf has yet to learn the way of the Dremel
You could use GoToMyPC (http://www.gotomypc.co.uk/remote_access/remote_access) It's pretty good but it's paid, though you can still use the 30 day trial to see what you think.

crossloop is based on vnc, remote desktop is a better solution, if possible, but as it's a home version of an operating system, you need a third party one, so vnc/teamviewer/logmein.

we constantly use the free version for remote connection. We also have the rescue package at work, but that is chargeable and quite expensive
Its a lot simpilar to set up than RDP as you dont have to look up IP address or sort your routing out.

Oh, also it has an free app so you can connect from an iPhone (a little clumsy on the small screen) or iPad. Dont think they have released it on Android yet
