i have the below system running win 7 64bit and fah 7 (fah control) is it worth getting another 6870 to fold on too?

i fold on both gpu and cpu using fah7, i have the chance to buy another powercolor 6870 for 60 pound shud i or not worth the elecrticity??

A second card should give the same PPD as the first.

Any WU completed before the deadline is useful to Stanford, and to the team. If you are frequently failing to complete WUs, then stop trying, since it slows down the projects concerned.

Only you can decide if the PPD/W is something you are happy with.

ATI cards use a full CPU core when folding. I wouldn't think a second 6870 would be very beneficial if you are folding for the points. The best way to check what effect it would have on your CPU folding, just set the client to only use 2 cores, which would leve 2 for the GPU folding. If the CPU ppd drops by more than what the current GPU gives you then you have gained nothing. If however the GPU gives more ppd than you lose on the CPU by trying this, you would benefit from it.

If you fold for the science, and not the points, the outcomes may be different.

Also, don't forget that (if you want the points) the extra points for finishing early are only awarded on the CPU, the GPU doesn't get them, so you are likely to lose more points on the CPU than you gain on the second GPU.

on fah 7 how do you change such settings, like fah6 u cud tell it how many cores and what percentage etc?

My folding systems are currently offline while I modify my cooling (combining multiple loops to use one chiller), so hopefully someone else can confirm it's still possible on the release version of fah7. You probably need to go to advanced settings...
