Random Red Screen Problem

OK, so iv just build my new computer, and every now and again when i click to open an exe file or just any random task, I get hit with a red screen, and I need to reset the computer, I'm unsure what's causing this and wondered if any of you know a fix ffor it? Iv got a gtx670 phantom, Asus p8z77 mobo, be quiet pro2 cooler, 8gb xms ram, 120 ocz ssd, 1tb hdd and a 750w corsair high current gamer psu, was unsure is a driver conflict could be causing it or something? Also can't seem to recreate problem by carrying out a certain task it's just completely random.

Yes, red screen issue with Kepler is because of monitoring utilities accessing the graphics card registers at wrong moment.

Pretty definitely. Or at least try and stop them from accessing the GPU. Disable GPU-z, and see if you can't unload the part of speedfan that's monitoring the GPU. That way; you can still use the program, but it won't cause any issues.

Failing that; just reboot every time you get the red screen, and hope that, next boot, it initializes properly.

Slightly off-topic; I'm not sure if this is an issue that could be fixed with just a driver update. It might also require bios updates on affected cards, because it definitely sounds like something is falling over if the registers are read at the wrong point.

Thanks, I'll get rid of the stuff tomorrow, my motherboard also comes with software which monitors temps and that think I should disable that too?

No, only 3rd party monitoring apps which monitor the graphics card.
