How to clean WC radiators?
I need some information.
What is best, inexpensive way to clean WC radiators from plaque and corosion? I have one aluminium and one copper radiator. I saw that some people use cola, lemon acid and ketchup on waterblocks-can these be used on WC radiators?

Leave in vinegar for a day, flush with plenty of water.

Radiators are filled up with vinegar, but I have additional questions:
-can vinegar do something with radiatior paint? I spilled some around threds. -oone radiator is making bubles-is that normal? I removed all the air.

I wouldn't worry about the paint.
I would guess the bubbles are just the reaction as its eating away at the goo inside

Yup. The paint is oil-based, and tough enough to resist vinegar. The bubbles are gasses released in the chemical reaction of vinegar with the alkaline gunk in the rad.
EDIT: I assume he is using household vinegar, not chemist-grade acetic acid.

I am using kichen vinegar (that is used for salad XD).
Raditor that is making bubbles is copper one. That one has been used with colored coolant-can that cause reaction?

Is a bit longer than I'd be comfortable with -- I'd personally do it for a couple of hours, max.
Too long and the vinegar starts to eat into the radiator -- that green coloured tint to the vinegar isn't dirt...

Distilled vinegar or something like a fancy salad vinegar? The former is what you should be using, white wine / rice vinegar is probably ok too, the latter has organics in it and you'll need to be very very attentive in cleaning it out...

It is alchohol based vinegar for salad.
Thank you very much guys, it really helped me. Although aluminium one is still covered with plaque-copper one was cleaned perfectly.

I give then a soak and then connect them up to a pump res combo and the leave it to run for about 30 mins, it's amazing how much crap this method flushed out. Then is a quick flush with normal water and job done.
