E5645 - only getting 2-3k PPD
Hi All - yet another thread about low PPD
i have a server running with a single E5645, 6 cores 2.4Ghz, with hyperthreading. its running Linux and has the latest version 7 client running. the system has nothing else to do but fold. i've setup a pass key but the unit hasn't done its 10 units yet. i've used the -smp 12 switch and the system load info shows the folding process taking up 1197% CPU but i'm only getting about 2-3k per day. from what i can tell i should be getting 3 or 4 times that - will the bonus after the first 10 make the difference up? confused and hopeful Donz |

Seems low, but wait until the bonus kicks in to get the total picture and repost if necessary.

Welcome to the forum

BTW, the initial 10 WUs apply to your user name, not your machine. You may find it saves time to run your first 10 WUs without the 'smp -12' flag, they will be low scoring, but should finish more quickly than with the flag. There isn't a straightforward way to tell if Stanford have received the 10 WUs, you will have to count at your end. HFM.NET can show the number of completed WUs.
