It feels really nice. V Quiet compared to the blues these browns are. Typing does feel faster and smoother and somehow I'm bottoming out less. I can't keep up with my fingers now.

It's quite a heavy keyboard by the way. Surprised me it did. But it's good because obviously with great weight comes great quality. Same trend in watches apparently. So it goes.

The plastic around the keys is v.shiny by the way. A bit of a dust magnet. I love the contrast of the keys matt finish compared to the cases shine. It really looks lovely.

All in all, typing so far has been a joy.

I'm going to sell the G80 and buy another DAS for home I think. This was supposed to be for home, but it turns out people were just too polite to say that the last one was really loud! And it certainly was compared to this. I may find that I get a decrease in ear ache I mainly put down to the lack of sound proofing in my tiny diesel runabout.

Compared to the G80 there really is no competition by the way. The DAS is superior in every way. Especially the space bar, which I can now press confidently with my left thumb.

It feels very cheap next to this DAS. Nothing wrong with it though I might add bar the space bar action being a little off on mine. I did like the retro look of it though. But you can't argue with the swish look of the DAS vs G80.

Edit: The G80 you sort of expect and sometimes get that creaking plastic sound you would get from old stuff. It didn't just look retro, it felt it.

Edit2: It would be nice if there was a version without the media keys. I've never needed them ever in a million years and I'm 26, which makes that fact even more impressive.

law99, that G80-3000H**GB? If so, it has doubleshots which are WAY better keycap than the Das. Otherwise if you don't want to save those nice keycap, keep in mind you can get quite a bit from the G80, probably about $100.

Nevermind, I looked too fast, it's lasered pom for sure. Even with the pom the keycap are still better than the Das in my opinion.

Ya??? I see I see... well it's a 3000L I'm afraid. Definitely doesn't feel as nice... but then it is quite obviously, subjective you see.

You can't really compare the actual assembly though. You'd be mad to suggest that the G80 is on level. As for the switches.... well this is my second mech and third go on one, so I am unsure as to Lasering my pom compared to doubleshots, but I used to shoot womprats back home with my t16 like all the time.

Well, the Korean order for 2nd run of red esc was only 1000, and similar for doubleshot RGB so I am not too worried. Though that was back when Cherry was still ordering doubleshots and it was through them... but i doubt the moq would have changed too much in a couple year. Also as far as I can tell they are still making the MX version of WEY keyboards, so full set in standard color may be no moq since they would have those in regular production anyway... but we will see. Having any new legends made may be more challenging, but I don't think it's going to be impossible to get existing things done. I mean, when I contact Cherry I asked for pretty low amounts so not sure if they would even gave me any info if it was impossible.

I've got a feeling almost all of us will be looking for RGB sets and Red Esc caps mainly, so we should be ok on those.

Total noob questions.

In regards to the WASD custom keyboard designer can you only use either the 104 ANSI or the 105ISO? is there not and 87 key layout?

Second question is if I wanted to buy these keycaps although it would mean buying keys I cannot use or even want do I just fill out the few bits below my design and of course pay?
